When does it become Adultery ?
October 19th 2007 03:09
Whether one is young or old, male or female, short or tall, skinny or fat the chances are we have all encountered a stranger that we have found attractive.
An example might be harmlessly catching the eye of a someone in a food court or a bank que. Rather than the usual hasty shy retreat, where you both nervously shift your gaze onto anything as far away as possible pretending you never even saw the other person; no instead you find a little connection in the either, a little sparkle that you both experience.
No it doesn't mean you want each other sexually, although there must surely be an element to this - perhaps thats a subject for another day, and no its not wrong but deliciously right in many circumstances.
But what we are saying is that across a space in time, a moment is shared and remembered, a smile might follow before the absolute limit of an admiring gaze is reached; before it becomes a stare.
If the strangers remain in proximinty they may even continue to refresh that initial sparkle and when they seperate each will take away a wonderfully warm feeling about the person they just never met.
So how long, after you have just given away this unique and special sparkle, is it acceptable to your former partner that you give another away without it being an adulterous act ?
