The greatest toy ever invented... the cardboard box.

Thanks to Anne for bringing up such a wonderful subject.
We have all complained about it as parents. The kids would rather play with the box than the toy that came IN the box. It's just one of those things that kids like to do. I know I did.
When we were younger, my parents got a new water heater. It came in a huge box. My dad cut out windows, and my sister and I played for hours. We would play house, we would play fort, we would play hide from the monster. We would just go in to get away. We finally figured out that we could climb inside it and somehow raise it up so it stood straight up. It was tall. We couldn't climb in it at all. We had to kind push it up while we were inside and it was lying on it's side. When we did that, we were astronauts.
Nothing is more fun for a child than a huge carboard box. Even now as an adult, I would love to have one with wireless internet of course, and just lose myself in it.
