Anyone who watched the Grammys last night saw the lifeless hand on Morgan Freeman's left side. After a bit of research, the mystery behind what looked like a fake hand the entire time was not really fake at all.
In August of 2008, Morgan Freeman was in a car accident in Mississippi. The injuries to his hand were severe and he underwent 4 1/2 hours of surgery to repair damage to the nerves of the hand and arm.
At last nights Grammy Awards - the hand that did not move - was the hand that underwent the surgery. The doctors were able to reconnect the nerves, but the hand remains paralyzed to this day.
I feel ashamed that the first thing I thought of was the movie Happy Gilmore.
Despite the trouble with his hand, the acting career of Morgan Freeman is still going strong. Production just wrapped on The Maiden Heist and two movies, The Human Factor and The Last Full Measure are currently in pre-production and production phases. Of these movies - The Human Factor is the one many people are waiting to see. Morgan Freeman will play Nelson Mandela in this wonderful drama.
Recent hits for Morgan Freeman include Wanted with Angelina Jolie and The Bucket List.
