Sim-ply fun! Sim-ply pathetic.

October 22nd 2006 22:17
I am a Sims2 fan. I don't get as much time to play as I'd like because for me, playing Sims 2 is the equivalent of being stuck in a black hole or vacationing in the bootheel of Missouri. You stay the same, but time all around in the universe has kept on going, moving on with the times, and keeping up to date with fashion. Either way, you wake up, dazed, hungry, with a slightly hung over feeling, and in stone washed pants. It's scary really.

Lately though, I have rearranged my priorities to play Sims more frequently. By rearranging my priorities, I mean letting everything else go to shit so I can play. But, you know, as long as my kids aren't dead they're fine. They actually love my Simming because they can eat Doritoes until they explode. Cool Ranch for breakfast, and nice aged Nacho Cheese for lunch, and for dinner, well that would be the crumbs at the bottom of each bag of course.

With Sims you have two kinds of people. People who don't "get it" They usually say things like "Mine always seem pissed off" or "All I do is make them pee? How's that fun?" Then you have the obsessed people. They're people like me who say stuff like "Man, my aspiration meter is REALLY low" or My bladder meter is in the RED, where is the toilet?" And these people (like me) aren't actually PLAYING the game at the time.

This is how much Sims has become a part of our lives. During the first week of school, my daughers had to make her "Family book"

This is what we get....

It's start out normal of course. There's Aislinn's name and her wonderful drawing.

Next she has to draw her family. For some reason she left out her Dad. That should be a good indication on how much he is home. I didn't tell him that of course, he can't help he has to work so much. That's topic for another entry.
That's Jonny up top, playing by our fish tank, pushing his car. That's me and Aislinn down at the bottom.

I have NO idea what this is. And she drew it upside.

This one I love. Following rules. Above is Aislinn playing with her pom poms (which are indeed purple) and down below is Aislinn not following the family rule which is no slamming the door. The shirt in the bottom one she actually owns. It has a flamingo and two palm trees. I thought it was cute that she drew it.

This is our house, and apparantly, we're a family of vampires who hate sunlight so much, we had a house built with ONE window. That window is strictly for appearanes, so the neighbors don't find out about our nightly blood sucking. You know, becuase one window is ok, NO windows just screams FREAK! That's our van.

And this... .this awesome-est of it all.

When asked to draw the family's WANTS she drew this.

That is a Sim (you can tell from the diamond or "plumbomb" on top of it's head) getting it's mail. She wrote "More Moms games"

Yes, that is how ingrained Sims is in our life. My 6 yr. old add them to our family book. It's both hysterical, and humiliating all at the same time. Isn't that how a good hobby should be though? Fun, yet embarrassing when you let people know how much you're into it. It could be sports, knitting, Sims2 or your collection of midget holiday porn. Whatever. Hey, I don't judge. I like to make fake people pee, and go to to work.
