I drank my big ole cup of bitter this morning.

Here I sit.
Here I wait.
Yesterday our phone stopped working. Of course I called and a technician will be sent to the house, between the window of 8 am- 5 pm December 3rd 2007. I know the MINUTE I go to run a quick errand he'll show up.
A part of me thinks that this is all a big ruse, becuase when I called last night I was told that I should get their wire plan so I wouldn't be charged for the visit. $5 a month. I have a feeling the "technician" is going to come here, press the "sucker" button, and it will magically work again.
This is a trait I've gotten from my father. As much as it annoyed me growing up, his insatiable and borderline maniacal need to find how they get'cha, I find myself seeing a lot of the time he is right. Companies want to be good at ONE thing and that's make money. Customer service is virtually nill. I've had ongoing problems with this company with both my phone and internet. I finally ditched their cable tv. Cable tv they apparantly think is made of gold, since they were charging me a fortune for very little. The last problem was disconnecting the phone WHEN I PAID MY BILL! Then after admitting the problem was theirs, taking FIVE WHOLE DAYS to turn it back on, then when I called to complain at their corporate offices I never got a call back. Yet, I see their commercials all the time offering new customers new and better deals almost daily. It's all about getting NEW contracts, not trying to maintain their old ones. The only time I've EVER gotten any kind of respect from them is when I've called to disconnect a service.
Sorry, I know I had a big ole cup of bitter this morning didn't I?
