I am woman hear me roar.

November 6th 2006 03:07
I like getting my nails done. I think it's one of the best reasons to have a vagina. We women need SOMETHING to look forward too. Our lives are usually filled with sucky things like, not getting paid as much as men do in the work force, pushing a mans big fat headed baby out of our hoohas, periods, pms, and ridiculously long lines just to hover over a urine spotted toilet while we're at some dumb ass sporting event with our men. We have getting our nails done, and shoes to live for. Oh, yeah, and our familes I guess. Heaven would be 24 hour spa/shoe store, and all the cute styles in a wide.

It's funny what women will go through to look good. Tweezing, plucking, waxing, drilling, bleaching. Which often can leave use hurting. Don't have the new girl do your hair coloring or your nails. You could walk out with a chemical burn on your scalp, or bleeding cuitcles. I've even been known to cram my foot in a shoe that was too narrow for my toes. Once, I bought a new pair of cheap shoes (mistake number one) walked around on Beale St. in Memphis in them (mistake number two) and then got so drunk, I didn't really feel the pain until I started to sober on the walk home, which was WAY to long to walk around in new, cheap shoes. (mistake number three) I lost a toenail from the night. That's right. A toenail suffocated in my pinched shoes, and was black by the next morning. I lost the whole toenail a few weeks later. I ddn't stumble in them, or hit a toe, my shoes were just too tight.

Again, the things we do.

Why do women like to get all dooda'ed up? It makes us feel good that's why. It's not to attract men. It's to make us feel good, and to make other women feel like slobs. You can always tell when I woman has on something that makes her feel good. It might be her jeans, or the clingy sweater, or the high heeled boots. It could eve been new highlights, or a particular good hair day. Women who feel good about themselves walk faster than usual. With a bit of a bounce in their step, and their hair swings around more. Everything jiggles just so, and nothing can touch her. Even if she isn't the ideal standard of beauty. When I see a woman walking to her car from the grocery store, with that special walk, I always smile. I know how that woman feels, as I've felt that way before. It's a good feeling.

I hope all my women folk out there have a day like that sometime this week.

On another note.... I have been extra Susy Homemaker today. I went grocery shoppping, and I made a delicious dinner. Not only was it delicious it was NEW and DIFFERENT!! That doesn't happen often. Since it was NEW and DIFFERENT!! the kids refused to eat it, and instead they had PB&J's. So, if anyone wants potato soup, I have an asston of it.

Jenn, yes I used your recipe, and Tony and I loved it. Aislinn is doing this thing where she absolutely hates anything new. She tried a bite, and before she even tasted it, was spitting it out. It's so irritating. The new rule is she has to try one bite, and if she doesn't like it her only two options are pb&J or eggs and toast. What she wants is either McDonalds, or Chef Boyardee.
