Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

April 13th 2007 00:43
Um. No. No I'm not.

This is a new game show, and WOW do I feel pretty dumb. Too many Ben Stiller movies will do that to a brain.

Don't worry I'm not either! Used to think I was, but recently discovered that I'm not only more naive and emotionally retarded than a 5th grader, I'm also just as gullible as one! Have a great day..

Take care,

Nick

I think I've only seen the show once.... and I can't remember how well I did. The kids and I watched a bit of it together and I'm pretty sure we took turns trading off right and wrong answers.

I don't watch too much t.v. - and isn't it funny how game shows can make ya feel either really really good about yourself, or really really bad? Get three answers right on Jeapordy and you're the Goddess of all wisdom, but miss a puzzle on Wheel of Fortune and you feel like a complete twit.

Ha!

Oh, they skew those questions for kids. They should ask questions like "Which is more economical--a fixed mortgage rate at 6%, or a variable rate depending on the state of the market?" or "What's the most effective method for getting a wad of chewing gum out of one's hair?" --you know, things *we* study every day.... ; )

I may be in the minority here, but I think the show is too ridiculously easy to be real. If I could play from home, I'd be a millionaire a couple times over by now. This isn't to say that I haven't dropped the ball on a couple easy questions, but overall, my batting average on this show is pretty high. I've had to stop watching the show, as I was beginning to hurl insults at my TV screen with too much conviction.

As I was saying, I wonder if the show is fixed. Some of the questions I've seen people cave on are jaw-droppingly easy. There's that, and there's the fact that there's nothing on the website about how to get onto the show as a contestant. Hmmmmmm.......

Honestly I must be an idiot then, becuase I didnt know hardly ANY of those question from the little bit I watched.

Then again my sixth grade teacher told us there were fifty two states, Guam and Puerto Rico being the other two and till this day I'll never forget that. LOL

Wow. You should find your 6th grade teacher and slap her.

I didn't mean to come off as a "know-it-all"! I just have pretty decent retention skills, plus I do a lot of reading and research in my free time. The 16 years I spent in school represents a little more than half of my life. I'd hate to lose all of that useless knowledge

Am I smarter than a 5th grader? Could a 5th grader play the piano accordion? If yes, then i take it back.
